Esports Indonesia will go global when mobile gaming booms in Europe

Esports Indonesia is growing. Even so, it cannot be denied that most of the games that gain achievements for Indonesian athletes are mobile games.

Even Indonesian esports athletes have made achievements abroad, for example in the Mobile Legends branch: Bang Bang, PUBGM, Free Fire, to Arena of Valor.

The Asia Pacific market from Europe to North America is indeed different. If we talk about Europe, PC games still dominate. Biggest tournaments are still held by games like League of Legends, Dota 2, CS:GO, Fortnite, Overwatch, etc.

Even so, the CEO of Rex Regum Qeon, Andrian Pauline, is optimistic about Indonesian esports. According to him, Indonesia can go global in this field when mobile gaming has penetrated more widely.

“I think Asia is the market for mobile gaming. While in Europe and other countries the concept is still a PC. DOTA, LOL, CSGO, Fortnite, and Overwatch are all cool and world-class leagues, but still PC platforms,” he exclusively told ONE Esports.

“In the future, if for example the European region, North America, and others can accept Mobile Esports, it’s only a matter of time that we Indonesia can be on the world stage. Now we have players who in mobile games are really good at it.”

“Speaking of which, can Indonesian esports spread its wings? Very well. But threats are always there. It can’t just be LoL mobile, or the upcoming MOBAs. It won’t be because other LoL mobiles are quiet. It could even be because of another game. As long as they are on the same platform, the potential to move is huge,” he explained.

AP also wonders why mobile gaming is still a little difficult to see in Europe and North America. Even so, there is hope.

“Agree (if Indonesia is more advanced because it was first in mobile gaming). I don’t know if it’s because Caucasians have big hands or what. What is the physical size. For me, it has been proven that the mobile esports growth base on data has increased sharply in the Asia Pacific region,” he said.

“Although the PC is still controlled by Western. But in Brazil alone has started to mobile. Brazil, India. These are countries with large populations,” he concluded.
