Dota 2 coach criticizes Valve for not caring about Dota 2 in the Corona Virus Pandemic

Dota 2 coach criticizes Valve for not caring about Dota 2 in the Corona Virus Pandemic. Valve is currently facing a lot of criticism from esports activists such as Dota players and talents.

The reason is that during the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic, Valve didn’t seem too concerned with the Dota 2 esports ecosystem.

This also caused the Dota 2 team to temporarily disband such as Reality Rift and also CR4ZY due to financial difficulties and Valve’s lack of contribution.

This time the criticism for Valve is back from the Winstrike team’s Dota 2 coach, namely East “AhillesKulmuhambetov who asked the Dota 2 community to unite and pressure Valve to take some important steps to prevent Dota 2 from becoming a “Dead Game”.

In a posts on the Russian social media site VK , Ahillies said “I consider it my duty to talk about what is happening in Dota. I believe in the power of community. You need to speak more often and louder. Otherwise, Valve will not react.

I’ve heard sad stories about the dying game Heroes of Newerth which is very cool. I managed to play 3-5 thousand hours in it. The situation with HOTS is also not forgotten. But those HOTS were closed by order of the developer. Will Dota 2 have the same fate? Quite possible. Not this year or next year, but soon. The trend is very negative,” explained Ahillies.

He also added that he would ask Gabe Newell (Valve) to help support Tier 2-3 scenes if he met him.

“Old man (Gaben), please provide financial means to maintain Tier 2-3 scenes. Where’s the league? Why can’t you support Tier 1 tournaments in different regions? Or is there no trust in the tournament organizers here? You can then collect tournament prize funds and give some of that money to the organizers themselves.

This dialogue has to start right away, guys! Let’s talk about it as loud and as often as possible. Don’t let our favorite game die. Let the most influential people from the Dota community in CIS and Europe start talking about this and questioning Valve.”
