Developer Valorant: New Map Will Look Like Icebox

The release of Valorant’s newest map, Icebox, has caused a lot of debate among the Valorant community itself.

This is because Icebox has many players who don’t like this map, they think the Icebox map design is very bad and favors only a few agents.

Even so, Valorant map developer Joe Ziegler has stated that the design of the new Valorant map in the future will be similar to Icebox.

The Future of Valorant Map

In Valorant’s latest Dev Diaries segment entitled “Icebox and the future of the map”, the Riot Games and Ziegler teams talk about the reasons behind their map design.

“We want to bring about a new, meaningful change that asks you to think about how you approach a space.

“Our four original maps were designed to introduce you to the complexities of Valorant, especially with so many unique agent utilities to play with.”

Ziegler then made it clear that the new Valorant maps will be different from their first 4 maps.

“Going forward I hope you can see how we will continue to challenge the basic concepts of map design to promote more diverse strategic play.”

Ziegler uses Icebox as an example of a map with a complex design that forces players to rely on their aim and short-range combat abilities.

In the Icebox map, players must play more strategically and be more tactical in the use of their character’s skills.
