Chinese Dota 2 Caster Says Sylar Gets Unpleasant Treatment at 4AM. The esports organization that just formed their Dota 2 division, 4 Angry Men, apparently caused a polemic when announcing their roster.

This 4AM roster is filled by veteran Chinese Dota 2 players, namely:

  1. Liu “Sylar” Jiajun
  2. Lu “Somnus/Maybe” Yao
  3. Zhou “Yang” Haiyang
  4. Xu “fy” Linsen
  5. Ru “RedPanda” Zhihao

Surprisingly, the carry position from 4AM was suddenly filled by Sylar, even though there were many rumors that said the position would be filled by Eurus. This caused a lot of controversy in the Chinese Dota 2 community.

Call it China’s Dota 2 caster, namely Chen”Jophy“Yes. Jophy strongly criticized the treatment of the 4AM organization because they did not think that Sylar existed and they treated Sylar unpleasantly by bullying him.

On Jophy’s Twitter, he said that he first announced Sylar’s signing, then swapped him for another Carry, Eurus.

According to the caster, this happened because the player did not have time to sign an official contract when the announcement was made. The club management ultimately decided to use this to their own advantage.

Jophy also urged other pro players to sign contracts with the teams they joined. Jophy’s comment is in line with Lu’s version of events.”Somnus丶M“Yao before, that is:

  • According to the player, there is a fee of 1.5 million RMB (USD 220K) that 4AM needs to pay to ViCi Gaming to sign Eurus
  • However, the organization felt that it was illegal, and wanted to fight it in court. However Eurus did not want to get involved in a legal dispute with ViCi Gaming and asked 4AM to pay the fees
  • 4AM promised to take care of it, but failed to negotiate with ViCi Gaming for more than two months. So Eurus told Maybe, that he can’t join the 4AM team
  • 4AM also has a verbal agreement with Sylar based on recommendations from players and makes announcements on social media
  • However, on the second day 4AM had a meeting, which decided to sign Eurus instead
  • Maybe also admits that it’s very unprofessional and unfair, because 4AM messed up Sylar’s future
