ASUS Announces ROG Strix Graphics Card and TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – ASUS announced the new line of ROG Strix and TUF Gaming AMD Radeon 6000 Series graphics cards. The new AMD Radeon RX 6000 series and the underlying RDNA 2 GPU gaming architecture herald a new era of Radeon graphics power. To get the most out of this exciting new GPU, ASUS engineers have worked hard to develop ROG Strix and TUF Gaming graphics cards that deliver the high performance, low temperatures, and quiet operation that fans expect.

The Radeon RX 6800 XT is one of the most powerful GPUs AMD has ever made. When ASUS engineers began sketching the ROG Strix card, the basic strengths of the Radeon RX 6800 XT spurred the design of a cooling system that could unleash its full potential. During this process, the ASUS team naturally switched to liquid cooling. PC enthusiasts around the world are used to the benefits of an all-in-one liquid cooling system for their CPUs, and many of them have even added a similar system to their graphics cards using aftermarket devices to pursue the outer limits of GPU performance.

ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6800 XT combines the power of air and liquid cooling like never before. This product was designed from the ground up with a special liquid cooling module specifically tailored to the needs of the graphics card. The large cold plate cools the GPU housing and GDDR6 memory module that covers the chip. The heat from these components is transferred directly to the liquid cooling loop rather than into the casing’s internals.

At the other end of the loop, the 240mm radiator strikes the right balance between high cooling potential and broad compatibility with the mounting points available in today’s PC cases. A low-noise blower fan and a low-profile heatsink inside the graphics card lining ensure the power delivery circuitry stays cool.

When the unit is attached to a PC, the ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6800 XT integrates seamlessly with the built system. The card is equipped with a very long 600 mm cooling hose to allow for more mounting options in a single case, even in EATX enclosures with spacious interiors. The hose is lined with a textile weave to protect against abrasion and to add an extra touch of class to the system.

To remove heat from the loop, a pair of specially designed 120mm radiator fans optimized for high CFM and static pressure keep air moving through the tightly packed heat exchanger fins. Like other ROG Strix cards, the onboard ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6800 XT FanConnect II header can be connected to a pair of system fans. This header allows the connected case fan to respond instantly to changes in GPU or CPU temperature, increasing airflow exactly when needed.

Along with the Radeon RX 6800 XT, AMD also announced the AMD Radeon RX 6800 to bring ‘Big Navi’ performance to mid-range systems. For Radeon fans at Republic of Gamers, the ROG Strix version of the RX 6800 comes with all the latest ASUS advancements for air-cooled graphics cards.

The large 2.9-slot heatsink effectively transfers heat away from the GPU’s silicon itself using multiple heat pipes and a MaxContact base plate, increasing the surface area for better heat transfer. The trio of fans with the latest Axial-tech design push lots of airflow through the heatsink’s dense fin array while minimizing noise levels.

The grooved barrier ring on the outer fan, along with a higher blade count than the previous generation and a counter-rotating central fan, ensures airflow is directed towards the hottest parts of the GPU cooler with minimal disturbance from unwanted turbulence. The custom short PCB of the ROG Strix Radeon™ RX 6800 facilitates ventilation holes in the full-sized heat sink backplate, providing more room for heat to escape the GPU and into the case’s airflow path.

For gamers who want a discreet, rugged design graphics card, ASUS has also created TUF Gaming versions of the Radeon™ RX 6800 XT and RX 6800. The cooling design of both cards starts with a 2.9-slot heatsink built for plenty of thermal core space and quiet operation. below it demands the current highest wattage GPU. Air is pushed through the high surface area heatsink using three Axial-tech fans.

Just like on the ROG Strix cooler, the central fan rotates clockwise while the two on the sides rotate counterclockwise to reduce turbulence. This proven design allows higher RPM and more air movement through the heatsink without a corresponding increase in the acoustic footprint. An angular aluminum finish with a rugged new industrial design encloses the heatsink to give it a sense of useful performance.

The full length aluminum backplate adds a touch of style to the system with smooth TUF Gaming graphics, and large ventilation holes in front of the short custom PCB provide another route for hot air to enter the case’s airflow path. Auto-Extreme assembly technology, used throughout the range, precisely places and solders components without human intervention to improve build reliability and quality.

The 144-hour test regime and extra-rugged capacitors ensure outstanding reliability and long life. Users can also personalize the card to match other systems using the onboard Aura RGB LEDs.
