Astralis Signs One of CSGO Bubzkji’s Best Players! Astralis has brought in one of the best players, Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen from one of its toughest rivals, MAD Lions. Bubzkji signed a 2 year contract and has also released Jakob “JUGi” Hansen to establish 7 players on Astralis’ current roster.

Bubzkji was not played by the MAD Lions last June, but it was just reported yesterday that he would be joining Astralis. One of the largest eSports organizations from Denmark signed Bubzkji for an undisclosed fee and this roster change must have greatly strengthened the Astralis roster since Bubzkji was one of the best players in the MAD Lions. The 22-year-old has an average rating of 1.13 in 2021, according to HLTV statistics.

“When I heard about Astralis’ interest, I had already made up my mind,” Bubzkji said in a statement. The young talent had other options but was convinced to join Astralis after he spoke with Danny “zonic” Sørensen, the team’s head coach, and Kasper Hvidt, Astralis’ sporting director, about his role in the team.

According to Hvidt, Bubzkji covers the needs of Astralis better than JUGi, which plays a different role since dev1ce continues to play with AWP. The organization is looking for good, hungry players and thinks Bubzkji meets all of these criteria. “I have no doubt Lucas [Bubzkji] will be able to contribute from day one,” Hvidt said.

With this change, Astralis will most likely start a new season with dev1ce, dupreeh, Magisk, Patrick “es3tag” Hansen, and Bubzkji. Gla1ve and Xyp9x have not played since May on medical leave due to burnout.

JUGi has been playing for Astralis since May, right after Gla1ve quit. The 23-year-old said he was disappointed but understood it was best for him to move on as he is playing a different role to the one he is used to.

As for MAD Lions, the second best Danish team in 2021 reportedly tried to sign Lekr0 from Ninjas at Pajamas but the deal seems to have fallen through as of this week, Lekr0 reportedly turned down their offer. He was supposed to replace Bubzkji, but MAD Lions still have to sign a fifth player for the upcoming season.
