Alliance and Vikin.gg qualify for Upper League DPC Europe 2021

Alliance and Vikin.gg join Team Liquid, OG, Team Secret, and Nigma in the Upper League for the first 2021 DPC Major slot

As predicted by many, Alliance and Vikin.gg became the first team to qualify for the Upper League Dota Pro Circuit Europe 2021 through closed qualifiers.

Alliance had a tougher match than Vikin.gg during the qualifiers, but in the end the two seeded teams were able to qualify without losing a series of matches in the upper bracket.

Vikin.gg swept the Hippomaniacs in the opening round before taking on the Chicken Fighters roster in the first Upper League slot match. Charlie “CharlieDota” Arat and Ondřej “Supream ^” tarha dominated the first game, contributing a total of 32 kills and 33 assists with 70,000 damage to give the Chicken Fighters victory in the first game.

It was the only game Vikin.gg failed to win during the qualifiers. Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan, Indji “Shad” Lub, and the rest of the team went on to crush the Chicken Fighters in two easy wins and claim the first Upper League slot.

Alliance arguably made their way to the more difficult Upper League, where they faced off against the Hellbear Smashers, which was reinforced by veteran Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen’s and other former mudgolem roster. Mudgolem itself is a European team that is on the rise lately.

In the two series of matches played, Alliance started convincingly and won the first game but always lost in the second game, so their match had to be completed by game three. But Gustav “s4” Magnusson et al did not lose their cool and continued to play their game, in the end they were able to win both series of matches and qualify for the Upper League.

Now Alliance and Vikin.gg join Team Liquid, OG, Team Secret, and Nigma in the Upper League for a slot to the first DPC 2021 Major. The final two slots will be determined on January 10.

The remaining four teams enter the Lower League to compete during the first round of the upcoming DPC.
