3 Free Games on PS Plus for January 2021
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Following the regular tradition of every month, Sony is again distributing free games to all PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) service subscribers. At the beginning of 2021, Sony gave away three game titles consisting of Maneater, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Greedfall. These three games can be claimed and downloaded for free by PS Plus subscribers through the PlayStation Store starting today, Tuesday 5 January to 1 February.
Maneater is a unique Role Playing Game (RPG), in which players can assume the role of a cub of a ferocious shark. Players will be given a mission to avenge the mother who has been killed by a shark hunter named Scaly Pete. In order to realize this mission, players can hunt marine animals scattered in the vast ocean. As the game progresses, the shark character that players play will grow and can mutate.
When it reaches adult size, players will be equipped with the ability to fight back against Scaly Pete, such as attacking hunters from under the ship to launching a deadly bite. Maneater is available for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC consoles. However, the Maneater game which is free by Sony this month is only intended specifically for PS5 users.
In addition to Maneater, Sony is also giving away the game Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which is a sequel to the Rise of The Tomb Rider game series, from the famous Tomb Raider franchise. Players will return to play Lara Croft, who this time is tasked with fighting the military organization Trinity and stopping the threat of the Mayan apocalypse. As in previous Tomb Raider titles, players will be invited to explore a tense virtual world filled with unique puzzles and mysteries.
The last game to be released for free by Sony this month is Greedfall, a game that takes place in the 17th century. It tells the story of a main character named De Sardet who is on his way to cure the villagers from a strange disease.
In the middle of the journey, players also encounter a mysterious small island called Teer Fradee. It is said the island holds secrets and medicine that could potentially cure the disease that plagued Sardet’s hometown. But Sardet is not alone, because there are various strange monsters and various other parties who want to uncover the secret veil of the island of Teer Fradee.
