10 PlayStation Games Confirmed Coming in 2021, But Don't Have a Release Date yet

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – 2021 will be a transition year for Sony’s console, the PlayStation. Even though it has launched the next generation console, the PlayStation 5 is still lacking in product supplies, so not all gamers can play this sophisticated console. It’s no wonder that some games that were previously thought to be exclusive to the next generation of consoles have finally been released on the last generation console, PlayStation 4.

Some of the games confirmed to be out in 2021 don’t have a specific release date yet. Yes, the COVID-19 pandemic that has not subsided has made developers and publishers not too brave to confirm the release date of their game. Understandably, the experience experienced by Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be a lesson for developers and publishers.

Quoted from The Gamer, here are 10 game titles that will come out this year, but don’t have a release date yet.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

This will be the first game in the Ratchet & Clank series since the 2021 reboot on PS4. Like other Insomniac games that use the same engine, Spider-Man, fans have also been waiting for the latest game from Ratchet & Clank. Hopefully, the constraints shown in the demo will run smoothly in the final product. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be a PS5 exclusive.

God of War: Ragnarok

“Ragnarok is coming.” That’s the only thing revealed in the teaser trailer for this game besides the Omega symbol and 2021. After the last series was released in 2021 on PS4, fans have been waiting for the latest game from this franchise for three years. There is not much information regarding this game, God of War: Ragnarok (title is still tentative) is also exclusive for PS5.

Horizon Forbidden West

The first game, Horizon Zero Dawn, has been around since 2021. Unfortunately, this game is considered to be overshadowed by Nintendo’s success in releasing the Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Even though this game promises interesting gameplay for fans of action RPGs. Unlike the two games above, Horizon Forbidden West will be available on PS4 and PS5.

Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo is notorious for experiencing frequent delays throughout its history as the PlayStation franchise. The last series of Gran Turismo Sport in 2021 received a good response but not as much as the previous game. Gran Turismo 7 will be another PS5 exclusive game.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Even though Microsoft has bought Bethesda, the company is still promising that Ghostwire: Tokyo will still be a Sony exclusive when it launches. However, according to rumors, Ghostwire: Tokyo will also be released on PC alongside the PS5, so Microsoft isn’t really leaving the platform.

This will be the first Tango Gameworks game since The Evil Within 2 (2021). Ghostwire: Tokyo is very different from previous games in the series as a whole, but based on the studio’s track record, this game feels worth the wait.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Hit: Bridge of Spirits was supposed to come out at launch for PS5, last November. In fact, it probably should have been on the PS4 before then. However, the game has been delayed from 2021 to Q1 2021. If there are no other controls, the game should be released no later than the end of March.

For the uninitiated, this game will be the first game of Ember Lab, previously known as the makers of Majora’s Mask: Terrible Fate, a popular short film for Zelda fans. Hit: Bridge of Spirits is coming to PS4, PS5, and PC.

FIST: Forged In Shadow Torch

FIST.: Forged In Shadow Torch will be the debut game of Shanghai TiGames Network Technology Limited. This game will have a Metroidvania genre starring rabbits and reinforced mechanical enhancements to stop the robot invasion. FIST.: Forged In Shadow Torch is coming to PS4, PS5, and PC. The latest trailer at the 2021 Game Awards says the game will release in the spring of 2021, though the exact date hasn’t been announced.

Resident Evil Village

After Capcom experienced a hack that resulted in a lot of internal company data being leaked, including future projects from Capcom, hackers leaked the game that will become RE8 which will be released in April 2021. However, Capcom has not yet confirmed the exact date of Resident Evil Village. .

The absence of an official date for Resident Evil Village is quite strange, considering that since Resident Evil VII, every reveal of this game series has always had a date, or at least it will be revealed in the next trailer. This game itself has released two trailers last year, although it doesn’t have an exact date yet.

Resident Evil Village is planned to be launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, although Resident Evil Village Producer, Tsuyoshi Kanda had revealed the opportunity for this game to be released on the latest generation consoles, PS4 and Xbox One.

Gotham Knights

This game will be WB Games Montreal’s first game since 2021’s Batman: Arkham Origins.

Gotham Knights will focus on co-op and take place after Batman’s death. Gamers will take on the role of the Dark Knight’s protégés: Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood to eradicate crime in Gotham City and uncover the dark organization, The Court of Owls. The game is coming to PC and PlayStation consoles, as well as Xbox.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is another game delayed in 2021. Not much of the game has actually shown since its early 2021 CG trailer. Even the platform is still a mystery, although it is predicted to be released on PC and consoles. Predictably Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance will be an action RPG game like the previous games.
