Valve Again Makes Changes To The Dota 2 Matchmaking System

Lately Valve seems to be trying to fix it matchmaking they. After changing the MMR system to be based on role, they also change some algorithms and systems in matchmaking. Today, after looking at the existing data, they again made new changes.

You can read the detailed explanation announced by Valve here. We will only provide an outline and key points as follows:

  • If a Party has at least one player in rank Immortal, they will be considered to have rank the same as the player who has rank highest in the party. This prevented Immortal players fromabuse party queue by forming a Party with players with rank lower to get an easier opponent.
  • When doing party queue five peoples, matchmaking would prioritize finding a five-man party as an opponent.
  • Role symmetry in matchmaking get upgrades and fixes. Other than that, matchmaking will prevent players support become the owner of the highest MMR in the team.
  • Medal for rank you will have five stars, less than the previous seven. Following that change, the MMR required to get each star also changed.
  • Previously, you will still have the same Medal even if your MMR drops below the requirement to have the Medal. This rule has changed a bit where if your MMR drops to two stars below the requirement to have the Medal, you lose the Medal and drop to one Medal below it.
  • Post-game is now made a bit better and you can give feedback quality games that you have played.
  • Player with behavior score under 3000 can’t play with chat or voice chat until the player can correct the score.
  • Difference in the MMR of players to be able to play in one party reduced from 2800 to 2000.

What do you think? Will this change provide a change for the better and make each game more quality? Or you may have tried playing this?
