Official! Dota 2 Anime Adaptation Coming Soon on Netflix

There are many things that can be used as a source of inspiration when making anime, one of which is games. Recently, Netflix announced the best PC game, DOTA 2 officially adapted into an anime. This online streaming service provider ensures that Dota: Dragon’s Blood is ready to accompany the WIBU on March 25, 2021.

According to the plan, Dota: Dragon’s Blood will consist of 8 episodes with a duration of 30 minutes per episode. In order to attract more viewers, Netflix will release a teaser trailer on February 19 and the main trailer on March 2, 2021.

This latest Netflix series tells the story of the main character from the anime, namely the Dragon Knight, Davion. For those of you who don’t know, Davion himself is a knight in charge of hunting dragons in the world of Dota. With the main mission of killing Slyrak, one of the legendary dragons in Eldwurm.

As is known, Eldwurm is a term for the dragon race in the best PC game Dota 2. While the Eldwurm heroes that you can use include Davion “Dragon Knight, Auroth Winter Wyvern and Uldorak. In the video circulating, Davion’s appearance is not much different from that in the Dota 2 game.

Fully armed with armor and helmet, Davion looks dashing and ready to eradicate his enemies. Besides Davion as the main character, Netflix also announced the presence of other characters, such as Mirana, Princess of the Moon.

Regarding production issues, Netflix entrusted Studio MIR, which was produced by Ashley Edward Miller, to work on this anime. Studio MIR itself previously worked on X-Men: The First Class, Thor and Black Sails, The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender.

A little information, in this anime Davion is involved in major events that he never imagined before. Which later there will be Slylark who has an important role in Davion’s journey as a dragon hunter.

“Fans will love how we depict the world of DOTA 2 and form an epic and emotional story about some of their favorite characters,” said showrunner and executive producer, Ashley Edward Miller.

“The cinematic animation, acting, and music are amazing and I thank Valve for being able to support our creative ambitions,” he continued.

So far, the published trailer for the DOTA: Dragon’s Blood anime has been watched 1.1 million times. Besides Dota 2, previously there was another game that was also adapted into an anime, namely League of Legends with the title Arcane.

The plan for the anime adaptation will be released in 2021 yesterday, unfortunately the plan had to be delayed with various considerations. Dota 2 was published by Valve in 2021. Dota 2 itself is a sequel to Defense of Ancients (DotA).

As a multiplayer game, Dota 2 can be played by players using 1 hero along with 4 other players in destroying the enemy base. This MOBA game is the result of the work of DotA Mod and IceFrog which was specially employed by Valve.
