Malaysia Doesn't Ban PUBG Game
Telset.id, Jakarta – Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) does not supervise or prohibit games war based, like PUBG. The chairman of the MCMC, Al-Ishsal Ishak, said this in response to the discussions taking place in the media on this issue.
“My short answer is no. We do not monitor or stop war-based games as long as the content complies with the provisions of the law,” he said after holding a meeting with the Royal Malaysian Police-MCMC Cyber Crime Committee.
However, if their content violates the law, then MCMC will take strict action.

Previously, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, said: online game violent ones like PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG) are not to blame for extremist acts.
He said extremists would carry out acts of violence with or without the influence of online games.
This was conveyed when asked whether the government would ban online games with violent elements such as PUBG, following the shooting incident at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand which left 50 people dead.

In a statement, the MCMC has also contacted all social media platforms to remove the video of the Christchurch shootings. MCMC will also continue to monitor the spread of such videos on the Internet.
To note, on March 15, 2021, a man carried out an attack New Zealand Mosque shooting and was broadcast live for about 17 minutes on Facebook as he shot down worshipers at two mosques in Christchurch. [BA/HBS]
