Grand Final: China vs South Korea
Finally, the match that League of Legends MOBA lovers all over the world have been waiting for has happened. At the 2021 Asian Games League of Legends Grand Final, the Chinese and South Korean teams faced off. Korea comes with better statistics because they managed to beat China twice in the group stage matches. However, the better statistics did not frighten the Chinese team which resulted in a brilliant team play to then win the first championship title.
Both teams competed in the first round grand final very aggressively. However, the Chinese national team seemed superior. Even so, South Korea had time to put up a fight. Kiin and Ruler performed exceptionally so that Korea could catch up in the game. But that was not enough, because China successfully secured the Baron in the 23rd minute.
Then, Korea tried to do a separate lane push strategy. The South Korean team relied on the mobility of Faker as well as Kiin. The two were targeted to avoid a head-to-head team fight. That strategy saw Faker score an Ace in the 27th minute. However, Uzi et al. managed to win in a group fight at the Baron Pit. Finally, China crushed Nexus of Korea in the 33rd minute.
In the second half, South Korea pushed the lane aggressively from the start of the match. Korea got first blood in the 3rd minute, but after that the aggressiveness slackened and China dominated the match after winning the group battle at Botlane in the 9th minute. China continued to exert pressure, and was able to kill the hero of the South Korean team. In the 13th minute, the kill score reached 6-2.
China continued to dominate the game, but only until the 28th minute. The reason is that Korea managed to win the group fight and get the Baron. This crucial event made South Korea continue to dominate until the end of the match in the 33rd minute.
The third round of the 2021 Asian Games League of Legends Grand Final was played with high aggressiveness as well. Team China got its first hero kill in a team fight that took place in the lower lane. South Korea just got a kill in the 5th minute. However, it didn’t last long, China succeeded in adding three more kills when the team battle was held in the River area. Kill China continues to grow thanks to a good rotation strategy.
When the game entered the 13th minute, the kill score reached 2-8 for China’s advantage. The Korean team appeared with many small mistakes which the Chinese team was able to take advantage of. In the last team fight, the Chinese team got a Triple Kill. The third half ended at 35 minutes with the great achievement of the Chinese player, Uzi, who did not die once in this match.
In round 4, there was a change in the Korean team. Score is replaced with Peanut. The reason is for a strategy refresh. Korea gets First Blood first at 5 minutes. Then takes the Infernal Dragon. Hope developed on the Korean team, as they briefly led the fourth round. However, China’s strategy was able to turn things around, at minute 8, China did Ganking in the lower lane which made Korea have to lose two players, namely Ruler and Corejj.
The Bamboo Curtain Country Team had made a small mistake. This error was used well by Korea, so it managed to add kills, and got the Rift Herald. Finally, Korea dominated again from the 15th minute.
As if to win, the situation turned around again. When the game entered the 29th minute, Ming played brilliantly by contributing greatly in getting the Baron Buff and also an important kill. The team battle was very fierce until the game stopped at 36 minutes. The Chinese national team won first and took home the gold medal.
