How do I shop at Tokopedia? Is shopping there safe? Maybe that question is in your mind when you want to buy an item at Tokopedia. I will discuss a little about Tokopedia. Tokopedia is a place for buying and selling online (marketplace), similar to a mall. However, at Tokopedia, you can easily open an online store without a penny or free. If it’s at the mall, of course you have to rent a shop and have to pay for this and that, it’s really expensive.

With Tokopedia, online buying and selling activities become easier and safer, because the money paid by the buyer will never be received by the seller directly. IF the goods purchased have not been received by the buyer.

How to Shop at Tokopedia for Beginners

The way to shop at Tokopedia, either through a PC / laptop or smartphone, is actually the same, it’s just that the appearance may be slightly different. But in this tutorial, I use the Tokopedia application which you can download on the Playstore via https://www.youtube.com/watch? the following link.

Why do I use the Tokopedia application? I prefer to shop using a smartphone than using a PC / laptop because I think it is easier and more flexible, at the same time we can easily track the position of our goods at any time, without having to open the PC / laptop first.

In addition, the appearance and navigation of the Tokopedia application is very easy to understand, even for ordinary people. Alright, I assume you have installed the Tokopedia application on your smartphone. Check out the steps on how to shop at Tokopedia below:

1. Make sure you have logged into your Tokopedia account. If you don’t have one, you can make one easily via the following link.

2. I assume you have logged into your Tokopedia account. Find the name of the item you want to buy in the search field. A list of products related to the keywords you entered will appear. Compare each of these products, both in terms of price and reviews, you can use the tool Sort and Filter to find items that suit your needs. If you have found it, click on the product.

3. You will be taken to the product page. Here I want to buy a tab Samsung Galaxy Tab A (I’m not promoting it…). Before click button Buy, make sure you first read the reviews, discussions and product details. Be a smart buyer, before buying anything, read the product details first then ask for the availability of the item (ready color you want or not, this size is available or not and please ask questions first). If you are satisfied with the product, click the button Buy.

4. On page Buy Products, enter the number of items you want, if you want to buy 2 items, fill in 2, if 1, fill in 1 in the column Amount. For electronic goods or items that are quite expensive, it’s better to choose Yes on column Insurance. And on column Note to Seller, fill in the color of the smartphone (if you buy a cellphone), the size of the pants and other notes that you want to convey to the seller.

Then in column Delivery Destination will automatically be filled with the home address you specified when you first created a Tokopedia account. But if the destination address is still empty, you can create it by: Add New Address (How to add the address is easy, so I don’t need to explain).

5. Select the courier service and the type of delivery package you want in the column Delivery Courier and Shipping Package. Here I use the JNE courier service with the Regular package. If everything is filled in, select Buy.

6. The product has been successfully added to the shopping cart. If you want to buy other items, select Continue Shopping. However, if there is only 1 item you want to buy, all you have to do is make a payment by clicking Pay.

7. The following is detailed information about the goods you purchased. In the picture below, you may be confused why suddenly there is bubble wrap in my shopping cart. Because I don’t want my package to be scratched and something happens, so I also buy bubble wrap from the same seller.

8. Next click the button Choose Payment Method.

9. Select the payment method you want by clicking Add Payment Method. You can make payments via Tokopedia balance, bank transfer, Indomaret, Alfamart, Pos Indonesia and so on. But here I use Indomaret more often because it is more practical. So even if you don’t have an account, you can shop easily at Tokopedia. Since here I have made payments via Indomaret, there will appear the words Last payment used, so I just click the option Indomaret / Ceriamart.

10. To make payments via Indomaret, just click Pay.

11. You are given 2×24 hours to complete the payment. Immediately, please go to the nearest Indomaret, and don’t forget to bring Payment Code which I have marked red (don’t forget to bring the money too, hehehe). When you arrive at Indomaret, please go to the cashier’s desk, and just tell Ms. / Mas who is guarding the cashier if you want to make a payment at Tokopedia. If I just say this, they already understand. “Ma’am / Mas, want to pay for goods at Tokopedia”. They will understand why, later they will ask for the payment code.

12. After you finish making a payment via Indomaret, a few minutes later your payment status will be ready Verified (already paid). To check it, click the button Menu (three-line button) as I have arrowed.

13. Choose Order Status.

14. There will be writing Payment has been verified which indicates that you have finished making payments. At this stage, you actually just sit back and wait for your package to arrive. Click on the order in question if you want to check in more detail whether the package has been sent, receipt number information, where the package has arrived, or want to chat with the seller.

15. The following picture is a detail of the purchase transaction that I made. The seller is given a response limit of 2×24 hours to immediately send the package of the goods you purchased. On this page you can track your package, ask or chat with the seller and so on.

Yeeee, the package has arrived!

Two days later, my package arrived. Usually, the package from Jakarta to the city where I live usually takes 3-4 days, this is very fast, JNE just knows that I am really looking forward to the arrival of this new tablet, hehehe. Here’s what my package looks like that has arrived:

After you open your package, make sure the items you buy are in good condition, check the completeness according to the product details on the Tokopedia stall. Also check, whether there are scratches or not. If the goods are in good condition, and there are no problems.

Confirm Packages and Leave Reviews

As I said before, if you have received the package / item you purchased, make sure to immediately confirm that the package has been received and give a review / testimonial to the item, this is also important for the seller. Give a review and rating (star) according to your experience shopping at the store / stall.

Most of the buyers, after the goods are received, then confirm that the goods have been received, then they are finished. They are reluctant to give testimonials to sellers, even though this review / testimonial is very important to them. 1. Log in to your Tokopedia account, then go to Menu (three line button, in the upper left corner). Next select Acceptance Confirmation.

2. Click the order in question.

3. Scroll down and select Finished.
