Gigabyte P55W V6 Review – Nvidia Pascal Mid-Series First Break
The Gigabyte P55 is not at all popular in the Indonesian gaming laptop market as of this writing. Previously, only P34, P35, P25 and P27 had tasted the Indonesian market. Since the release of Datascript, Gigabyte has not found a suitable partner to carry their big name, especially for laptop products with gaming specifications. Including one of them, the Gigabyte P55 V6 which we will review this time.
Since last week (16/08), when Nvidia introduced the Geforce GTX 10 for notebook and Ultra mobile PC products, it was reported that it had worried PC component manufacturers, especially Motherboards. How come. “SUPPORTED”, the performance offered by the Geforce GTX 10 notebook version is no different from the Desktop version. First, Nvidia no longer distinguishes the naming of their gaming graphics chip SKU. No more “M” code at the end of the SKU number. A masculine barebones design that can’t be said to be thin, providing the benefits of a capable air circulation space. But for some reason, the manufacturer has not considered the use of dual fans for this Gigabyte P55 series. Black matte may have almost become the hallmark of Gigabyte’s gaming laptop products. And specifically for the P55 series, almost 95% of the barebones surface is flushed with this matte black color. Usually this kind of finishing becomes a fingerprint magnet. But this doesn’t really apply to the P55 series, although it can still be seen if you look closely.

The GTX 1060 is indeed the lowest graphics chip in the notebook version of the GeForce GTX 10. The position of the indicator is right under the touchpad. But the position of the led is facing the user which means it is not directly accessible from the workstation surface. For connectivity points, pemmzchannel scores are in the average category. In terms of technology updates, the Gigabyte P55W V6 is not equipped with thunderbolt and does not even include DsiplayPort. You are only offered HDMI 2.0 which luckily has capable for output display up to 4K resolution. Fortunately, 3 USB 3.0 ports and a USB 3.1 type C port are distributed quite well on the left and right of the notebook.
For the webcam, the Gigabyte P55W V6 is equipped with a camera made by chicony with HD resolution. The result? yes, it is more than enough to keep you video chat fun. For the SD Card, Gigabyte places it on the front side without any pointers on the surface of the workstation. So you need to grope for a while to find its position.
