Game Review: Rainbow Six Siege

If you are looking for a competitive game that is much more tactical than Counter Strike: Global Offensive then Rainbow Six: Siege is the game for you. This game made by Ubisoft deserves thumbs up because it succeeded in bringing a revolution to tactical FPS games.

Gameplay

2021-01-21_00010If you like playing FPS games, especially competitive ones, you should try Rainbow Six Siege. Because this game offers many modes and in our opinion it has elements that are quite complete for an FPS game. The only drawback is the story element because this game is not equipped with a Story Mode like most other FPS games. But you can be entertained by the many choices of characters in this game. There are currently about twenty characters that you can choose from by first purchasing them. You have to collect points to be able to buy characters, modify weapons, and skins.

Each character has advantages and disadvantages such as the example of the Tatcher character from SAS who has the advantage of being able to throw EMP granades to turn off enemy electronic equipment, but the lack of this character has a smaller speed than other characters.

Rainbow Six Siege
The choice of weapons is limited for each character

In Rainbow Six Siege, your character is limited in the use of weapons, this also makes the game more logical. The nature of the map in Rainbow Six Siege is very dynamic, you can destroy almost any wall by hitting it, this can also be used as an advantage to peek or breach. To strengthen this wall, each player is given two reinforcement walls.

Game Mode

Rainbow Six Siege
Example of game mode selection

Rainbow Six Siege has five game modes, namely Bomb Mission, Secure Area, Hostage, Terrorist Hunt, and Situation. The multiplayer mode consists of Bomb Mission, Secure Area, and Hostage. The most favorite mode in this game is Bomb Mission, maybe the players are already familiar with the rules of this mode. In fact, the Bomb Mission mode in Rainbow Six Siege is somewhat different from other games, because here the Bomb has been installed and the terrorists (in this case the defenders) are in charge of preventing counter terrorists (attackers) from defuse the bomb.

As an attacker before the game starts you will be able to monitor enemies using drones, the drone’s main task is to locate bombs and monitor enemy bases. On the other hand, defenders can strengthen their base by installing reinforcements on walls and hunting down drones.

Rainbow Six SiegeRainbow Six Siege currently has five types of units from five countries such as SWAT from the United States, GiGN from France, SAS from England, Spetnaz from Russia, and GSG9 from Germany.
the drawback of this game is that this game does not have a shortcut system for radio so you have to really rely on your microphone and headset to interact with other characters.

Graphic

Rainbow Six SiegeBecause the gameplay and game modes presented by this game are very realistic, it should also be seen from the quality of the graphics. The effects in this game are very realistic, we can see it from the explosions and character animations that are very natural.

If in other games a dead character will disappear from the map, not with Rainbow Six Siege which will still put the character on the map. This can trick players who are not careful to back-stabbing. With the quality of the graphics offered, this game is not included in the very heavy category because with middle-end hardware specifications you can already play this game smoothly.

Conclusion

In our opinion, there should be many FPS games that can learn from Rainbow Six Siege in all aspects from Gameplay to the game modes offered because this game is very fun. But unfortunately Ubisoft’s support in matchmaking and servers still needs to be improved because we still often experience long matchmaking and being disconnected while playing.
