D.Va Created New Mechanism in Overwatch Games

The D.Va mechanism is being reworked in several different areas. The change in the Defense Matrix is ​​an adjustment that is most clearly seen by many players, because the ability of the South Korean hero with this tank role is almost unstoppable.

D.Va’s New Mechanism

The energy savings of this hero’s abilities will be doubled, which means the “effective uptime” of this hero will be reduced by up to 50 percent, the main designer of the Overwatch game, Geoff Goodman, wrote on the Overwatch games forum.

The Defense Matrix is ​​a major part of the D.Va hero kit. The defense matrix allows this hero to be able to effectively cover a number of abilities and ultimates from other heroes. Reducing the uptime will make these D.Va hero players have to rearrange their use of the Defense Matrix in order to ensure its availability when needed.

With the Defense Matrix reduced in effective uptime, D.Va becomes able to use his Fusion Cannons while flying. That way, this hero is able to be a good opponent for very mobile Overwatch heroes like Pharah or Genji.

However, the most important thing about this hero is the new ability that will be obtained, namely Micro Missiles. The hero’s Micro Missiles allow him to launch many small missiles that explode on impact, dealing damage to a small radius around him. This ability can be used when using other abilities of this hero.

Overall, the goal of D.Va undergoing a rework on the mechanics is to reduce the player’s dependence on his Defense Matrix and make this hero even more fun to play.
