China Dominates on Day One of ESL One Hamburg 2021 Group Phase, EVOS Steals One Game
The first day of the ESL One Hamburg 2021 group stage is over. Two Chinese teams performed perfectly in their respective groups. Meanwhile, although not a champion, the Indonesian team EVOS Esports was able to win one games.
Since the first match, we were immediately treated to a pretty interesting match between Evil Geniuses and Team Secret in group A. What happened was that both teams slaughtered each other. EG slaughtered Team Secret in games first, then Team Secret came back to slaughter at games second.
However, what was in the spotlight in group A was China’s representative, Vici Gaming, who managed to win over Pain Gaming and Alliance. We’ll see if they still look solid against Team Secret or EG, which on paper is stronger.

Another Chinese team, Team Aster, is also dominant in group B. Amazingly, if Vici Gaming wins against a medium team, Team Aster looks perfect against the favorite teams in group B, namely Virtus.Pro and Ninjas in Pajamas.
EVOS Esports are also in group B. On the first day, despite failing to get a 2-0 result, they managed to steal one games faced Complexity in the first match. With these results, EVOS is in the last place of the group along with Forwad Gaming. However, the group phase still has three matches left, and the opportunity for EVOS Esports to qualify from the group is certainly still there.
The second day of the ESL One Hamburg group phase will start at 17:00 WIB this afternoon. EVOS itself will play two matches, namely against Team Aster at 22:00 WIB and Forward Gaming at 00:20 WIB.
