The game is a reality-inspired, interactive instant messaging adventure concept, focusing on the ongoing Syrian conflict and the resulting migration of millions of refugees. It is an examination of love and hope as seen through the lens of those most affected by the crisis.

This game has been produced in consultation with real-life Syrian refugees, however the game characters are fictional.

Speaking to Polygon about Bury Me My Love in 2021, Florent Maurin of the Pixel Hunt as the game’s producer and designer commented below regarding the game he made:
“Games don’t have to be fun and trivial. Like any medium, games can tackle any topic. Making these games, changed the way I think about migrants. I hope this, perhaps, has the same effect on players.”
These Play Store games were developed by independent French studio The Pixel Hunt, Figs in co-production with ARTE, and published by Playdius. This game offers a unique challenge in the ongoing Syrian refugee crisis.
