Biomutant: Melee Weapon Type Explanation

Biomutants give you incredible control over which weapons you bring into battle. Regardless of what you hold in your hand, however, most Melee Weapons fall into one of the top five weapon categories.

Even though they do a lot of damage, you have to be very close to the enemy to do a decent melee combo. And unlike Ranged Weapons, which had Wung Fu abilities. Melee Weapon offers a variety of good skills.

Much of the key input is the same, but the actions performed in each category provide enough variety for different playing styles. And here’s everything you need to know about melee weapons in Biomutant.

Unarmed (Unarmed)

Are you a Fight Club fan? Defeating the enemy barehanded is a totally viable option in Biomutant. Unarmed combat not only deals massive damage, it’s also lethal, allowing you to land multiple hits before hurtling to safety.

  • Phantom Paw: Doing basic spinning kick
  • Phoenix Sweep: Dodge then attack to do a swirling kick. A good move to close the gap and land a quick attack.
  • Knuckle Warp: Jump into the air and do a downward attack on your enemy.
  • Axure Paw: Attacks five times in a row for a powerful series of attacks.
  • Unspeakable Hand: Attack twice, then finish with grab and piledriver launches. Filling in one Super Wung Fu icon, it’s a great way to end a combo.
  • Blow Noose: Fire the ranged weapon twice then hit your enemy with somersaults. Filling one Super Wung Fu icon is the best way to close the gap between enemies.

One Hand Slash

If you like the speed that gun battles offer, but still want to use the weapons found throughout Biomutant, One-Hand Slash is the best choice.

Her last unlockable skill, Cat’s Cyclone, is a powerful melee skill that lets you throw your sword at nearby targets:

  • Ant Shiver: Unlocks the ability to use the One Hand Slash weapon
  • Astral Hawk: Launches from dodge to perform a rotating slash attack, dealing damage to nearby enemies.
  • Dog Dance: Slash down while the enemy is flying.
  • Death Rake: Five consecutive attacks ending with a deadly slashing attack.
  • Drunken Ant: Perform two melee attacks and end with three slashes and charge one Super Wung Fu icon.
  • Cat’s Cyclone: Fire your ranged weapon twice, then follow by throwing the sword at your enemy.

Dual Wield Melee (Double Melee Attack)

Dual Wield Melee Biomutant

Dual Wield Melee is practically the same as One Hand Slash, with the added bonus of off hand weapons. This fast paced category is perfect for anyone who wants to stay within close range at all times, dealing damage and narrowing to avoid enemy attacks. In other words, Dual Wield Melee will make you feel like a hairy ninja.

  • Twin Silver Grip: Unlocks the skill to use multiple melee weapons.
  • Warped Bull: Performs a basic slash attack.
  • Leaping Madness: From dodging, jumping to slashing attacks. It’s perfect to use when surrounded by enemies.
  • Comet’s Foot: Air slash attack.
  • Double Dragon: Five consecutive strikes, ending with a double bladed slash.
  • Unstoppable Pig: Perform two basic attacks before ending the combo with multiple attacks.
  • Unknown Force: Fire your ranged weapon twice, then throw both of your melee weapons at the enemy.

Two Handed Slahs

Similar to the massive Greatswords from Monster Hunter Rise, the Two-Handed Slash weapon is too big for the furry protagonist. They are very slow, but do some of the best damage in the game. If you use this weapon, be careful when attacking, because the animation will take a long time, and you will be vulnerable to attacks from all angles.

  • Dog’s Toe: Basic slash attack.
  • Unstoppable Rat: Dodge, followed by a spinning slash.
  • Divine Drop: Perform a downward blow with your weapon while in the air.
  • Fifth shiver: Five strikes in a row, ending with a big downward wedge.
  • Wicked Wolf: Two basic attacks followed by a vertical slash that destroys the opponent.
  • Bird’s Swirl: Fire the ranged weapon twice, then throw the two swords in your hand at the enemy.

Crush

Want to destroy your enemy? Grab large weapons of destruction, such as think bats, sticks, and other blunt objects, and you’ll soon be dominating the battlefield. One ability in particular, very good at dealing damage to everyone around you, making it a great choice if you’re being swarmed by enemies on all sides.

  • Celestial Smack: basic swing attack.
  • Ivory Warp: Dodge, then do a jumping slam attack.
  • Blassed Rabbit: Slams nearby enemies while flying.
  • Forgotten Bull: Five fast devastating attacks.
  • Mercury Drop: Two basic melee attacks, then launch your weapon at your target.

Unlockable Weapon Class

Along the way, you’ll find lots of other unique class items, including Klonfist. It works the same way as the above class, although you usually get some special skills. Klonfist, for example, is used during exploration to tear down collapsed walls and provide access to new areas.
