Axon M, Foldable Smartphone with Two Screens

If previously there were rumors that Samsung would release a foldable smartphone in 2021, Chinese smartphone vendor ZTE has officially released a folding smartphone with two screens named Axon M.

“With the introduction of Axon M, consumers can get new experiences in their mobile experience,” said Lixin Cheng, CEO of ZTE Mobile Device, quoted from the KompasTekno page., Wednesday (18/10/17).

Modern Version of Folding Smartphone

Although it is included in the folding smartphone category, the ZTE Axon M is different from the previous generation. This can be seen from the unusual design of this smartphone. In the past, folding smartphones could be folded horizontally so that the keypad and screen became one, but folded vertically with two 5.2-inch screens. At first glance, it looks like two smartphones lined up.

In addition, if the previous folding phone was folded in 180 degrees, the Axon M can be folded up to 360 degrees. ZTE’s latest smartphone design makes it a multifunctional smartphone with four different screen modes that can be selected according to user needs. Wow!

Consisting of two 5.2-inch HD screens, this ZTE gadget comes with four different screen modes; namely dual mode, extended mode, mirror mode, and traditional mode.

• In dual mode, users can do two different things on each screen. This mode allows users of this ZTE folding smartphone to multitask, aka do two different things without closing running applications. For example, on one screen, users can watch YouTube videos, while on the other, users can reply to chats on Facebook.
• In extended mode, users can take advantage of the entire smartphone screen at one time. With this mode, users can watch videos with a larger size and resolution or read online books with a wider view.
• In mirror mode, users can perform one function in two screens. With this mode, users can watch the same video on two different sides.
• Users can activate traditional mode when they want to use the smartphone as usual without any additional modes.

This smartphone will go on sale on November 17, 2021 in collaboration with AT&T for marketing in America and Docomo for marketing in Japan. ZTE will also market this product in China and various European countries on the same date. There is no information whether the ZTE Axon M will be sold in Indonesia or not. The price of this smartphone is USD 725 or around Rp. 9.8 million per unit.
