Total Free Fire Revenue Throughout 2021
Based on the information mentioned by App Annie, which is a mobile data research company, it was revealed that the revenue growth of Garena and its parent, SEA Group was even unstoppable during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the report, it is stated that Garena, as the developer and publication company for PC and mobile games, Free Fire, based in Singapore, managed to record that the revenue growth was very significant. In fact, the income last July 2021 itself can be categorized as the highest monthly income record obtained since Garena’s inception in 2009.
In the second quarter of 2021, Garena as the developer of the Free Fire game managed to record revenue growth that reached 61.6 percent on an annual basis from. The growth calculation is from US$443.2 million in the second quarter of 2021 increasing to US$716.2 million.
Not only that, Garena’s gross profit or EBITDA also increased to US$436.2 million in the second quarter of 2021 or grew 65.4 percent compared to last year’s period of US$263.8 million.
The revenue growth that was successfully obtained was due to an increase in Garena game users and users who purchased vouchers or Free Fire games.
In addition, App Annie revealed that the number of active Garena users also increased by 61 percent on an annual basis. The increase shows the number from 310.5 million users changed to 499.8 million active users. This increase occurred in the second quarter of 2021.
From a total of 499.8 million active users, it is known that the number of users who have purchased/paid vouchers is 49.9 million users or 10 percent of the total number of active users.
Just imagine, this number has grown and increased by 91.2 percent when compared to the same period last year which was only around 26.1 million active users who paid.
