Why is the full version of Halo 5 not released on PC? Here's the reason

Sometimes we wonder, why the full version of Halo 5 is not released in full on PC?

As we all know, part of Halo 5: Guardians, the Forge mode, is available on PC.

But other features, namelymultiplayer campaign and matchmaking, is still exclusive to the Xbox One.

Why is Halo 5 not fully released on PC?
Xbox boss Phil Spencer said in a new interview that it was technically possible to put the full version of Halo 5 on PC, but he decided against it so developer 343 Industries could focus on the next thing.

“Honestly the answer is with Halo 5, I could do last year’s game, rework it on PC, or I could see what they would do,” Spencer told PC Gamer.

“You could say I cheated a bit by doing the half thing by putting Forge on PC, because we have tools working on PC to see what happens.”

Spencer points out that Microsoft is doing something similar with the Forza series, launching a version called Apex on PC.

Microsoft later confirmed that all Forza games will be available on Xbox One and PC.

From this, Microsoft might consider doing the same with Halo games.

When asked directly if there was an ideological reason why Microsoft wouldn’t release the next Halo game on PC, Spencer said, “Nothing at all.”

There was no good news from Halo to be announced at E3 much to the chagrin of some fans.

Recently, Microsoft said it won’t be talking much more about its next massive Halo game for “quite a long time.”

The company ruled out an announcement at Gamescom (August) or PAX Prime (September).
