PUBG has blocked 13 million cheater accounts

The presence of cheaters or players who use cheats in online games is a very annoying thing because it can interfere with the fun of playing games because it makes the game unbalanced.

Fortunately, quite a few game developers have noticed this problem and have kept their games free from cheaters in various ways. This can be done by applying a special mechanism to detect the cheating application used, as well as blocking the cheater’s account so that they no longer interfere with the game.

Just like what Bluehole, the developer of the PUBG game, did. As quoted from Kompas Tekno, Bluehole regularly updates PUBG games with patches to patch security holes, as well as block accounts suspected of cheating.

Until now, there are 13 million accounts that have been blocked by Bluehole because they were caught cheating in PUBG. This figure is an accumulation of accounts that have been blocked since mid-2021.

Since the first week of PUBG’s launch, Bluehole has blocked around 1800 accounts that were detected using cheats. This number continues to grow until it reaches 1 million accounts in a week. After that, on average there are 100 thousand accounts that are blocked every week because they are caught using cheats.

However, Bluehole itself did not specify whether the amount came from the desktop version of the PUBG account or also included the mobile version. To date, there are an average of around 500,000 active players on PUBG each month, down from an average of 1.6 million, the highest figure ever achieved by PUBG.

Tencent as the owner of Bluehole and PUBG has made this cheater problem one of the main priorities. Tencent does not even hesitate to prosecute people caught using cheats, creating cheat applications, or spreading the application. Since the beginning of 2021, there have even been 141 people who have been arrested and charged with using, creating, and distributing cheat applications.

So, to keep your PUBG account safe, play honestly and practice a lot. Avoid using cheat applications that are not clear because in addition to threatening your account which can be blocked, cheat applications may also contain malware that can be dangerous for your computer.
