Acer Helios 700 Review | Pemmzchannel

Acer launched the Helios 700 series as a gaming laptop that offers savage performance. Just look at his great physique. Not to mention the specifications that use the fastest notebook processor on earth today. Not only that, other supporting components are also scary, such as the GeForce RTX 2080 which makes AAA games more fun with right-aligned settings. Not to mention the RAM and storage with a very large capacity.

But not only that, Helios 700 also has features that make the overclocking process very easy. You don’t need to understand complicated technicalities. What is it like? Before discussing further, let’s look at the brief specifications first.

Design
Wrapped in black, this laptop has a very gaming aura. The physique is big, the body is sturdy, the keyboard is RGB. The cover has a Predator logo that will light up according to the RGB on the keyboard. What’s different, the Helios 700 has a keyboard with a slider mechanism, aka it can be shifted downwards. This is not just a gimmick but serves to make the air flow on the laptop bigger and better.

The cool thing is that the heatpipes on the inside can be seen and have lighting that can be changed in color. After being shifted, the airflow will work optimally to suck air so that the temperature is cooler. When it slides down, the palm rest will also bend slightly downwards for comfortable wrist rest.

Dimension
As a desktop replacement, the body is quite large. It is 42.92 cm long and 29.97 cm wide. The size of this body is due to the use of components equivalent to the desktop class and also due to the screen size of 17.3 inches. That’s it, the bezels are thick too. So yes, the size is bigger. This is coupled with a cooling system that uses a large fan and is placed on two sides, above and below the motherboard. This is what makes the dimensions quite thick, which is about 4 cm. With these dimensions, the automatic weight also reaches 4.9 kg.

Screen
Predator gaming is fairly diligent in using screens made by AUO Optronics. And this time the panel used has the AUO B173HAN03.1 series. This type is slightly older than the one used by the Helios 500, namely the AUO B173HAN03.2 series. For the screen design, it seems a bit old school. The problem is that the screen bezel is very thick. This is one of the things that makes the Helios 700 have large dimensions. with a screen size of 17.3 inches, full HD resolution with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a response time of 3 milliseconds. The brightness level is 300 candela/m2. The sRGB color gamut is 96%, NTSC 66%, and AdobeRGB 71% after we recalibrate. For a laptop priced at 70’s, you can say it’s perfect for the gaming side, because this screen is already very cool to play with and there is a gsync feature. For the content creator side, this screen is cool enough to bring to work.
