GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The biggest PUBG Mobile tournament in Indonesia has ended. Aerowolf Limax managed to collect 184 points and 1 Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (WWCD). The team consisting of Spaov, Renalre, Potato, hzlnuts, and SuperUnaa is entitled to a grand prize of USD 20,000 or the equivalent of approximately 290 million rupiah and the main ticket to PUBG Mobile Pro League Southeast Asia (PMPL SEA Finals). Held on 23-25 October 2021, the PMPL SEA Finals will feature 16 professional PUBG Mobile teams from 5 countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

“We started this PUBG Mobile Pro League Season 2 with the aim of bringing another perspective from this tournament so that PUBG Mobile fans in Indonesia can see the efforts and struggles that a team has gone through to become champions at this stage. In addition, the achievement of the Indonesian team who became world champions in PMWL 2021 made us more optimistic and enthusiastic about their appearance on the international stage. We are proud to be able to participate again and play a role in the development of the esports ecosystem in Indonesia, one of the countries with the greatest potential for esports talent in the world.” said Oliver Ye, Director of PUBG Mobile Southeast Asia

First day

On the first day, Aerowolf Limax still didn’t show its full potential after being overshadowed by BOOM Esports and ION Esports, which displayed impressive performances and were tightly pressed against each other at the top of the standings. Aerowolf Limax slipped in third place with 63 points and no WWCD yet. BOOM Esports is in second place with 69 points thanks to their WWCD on Vikendi and Sanhok maps, rewarding the reigning champion Bigetron RA too soon. Slightly superior, ION Esports dominates the top of the standings thanks to the acquisition of 79 points in 2 times Winner Winner Chicken Dinner on Miramar and Erangel maps. In contrast to ION Esports, the defending champion and Regular Season champion, Bigetron RA must be patient and evaluate the team after becoming the caretaker at the bottom of the temporary standings.

The second day

Continuing the positive trend, ION Esports and BOOM Esports were able to maintain a consistent performance on the second day, as seen from the addition of 1 WWCD each. Not wanting to be left behind, Aerowolf Limax gave a surprising performance that was previously imagined by the two top teams. The second round became the stage wholly owned by Aerowolf Limax after sending the Bigetron RA squad to the game lobby with the title “too soon”. Additional points and WWCD pushed Aerowolf Limax’s position to the top of the standings with 140 and only 1 WWCD. Close to Aerowolf Limax, BOOM Esports and ION Esports are in second place with 117 points, 3 WWCD and 111 points, 3 WWCD respectively.

The third day

The third and last day became the most dynamic moment during the PMPL ID Season 2 tournament. The 16 teams are fighting each other for points and WWCD. None of the top standings managed to add to WWCD, neither Aerowolf Limax, BOOM Esports, nor ION Esports. However, the most important victory came from Aura Esports on the Vikendi map in the 3rd round. This victory managed to increase their coffers of points to 164 points and 1 WWCD, pushing their ranking from 4th position to runner up in the final standings. Aura Esports is entitled to a prize of USD 10,000 or the equivalent of 140 million rupiah and the main ticket to the PUBG Mobile Pro League Southeast Asia (PMPL SEA Finals). While the leader of the standings was able to reach 19 valuable points thanks to their second place in the 5th round. The addition of these points made them even more unattainable and ensured the main title of the PUBG Mobile Pro League Indonesia Season 2.

The team’s achievements cannot be separated from the brilliant contribution of the talent of the players, and PMPL ID Season 2 has become their playground. The best player in PMPL Season 2 is ONIC Cleon, with a rating of 2.13 and the Most Valuable Player title to his name. In tight competition with the MVP, Morph No Mercy became the Terminator in this PMPL ID Season 2 tournament with 29 kills, a difference of 1 kill with ONIC Cleon in 2nd position.

Along with the end of the PMPL ID Season 2 tournament, Indonesia has found the 3 best PUBG Mobile teams that will represent in the PMPL SEA Finals, namely Aerowolf Limax, Aura Esports, and Bigetron Red Aliens thanks to their results as winners in the Regular Season round. PUBG Mobile also recorded an extraordinary achievement after recording more than 138,000 live streaming viewers during the Grand Finals round. Increasing fan enthusiasm coupled with improving broadcast quality with the implementation of AR (Augmented Reality) in the explanation of match statistics and player performance segments further enriches and matures the Esports ecosystem in Indonesia
