Violating Payment System Rules, Fortnite Removed from Playstore and App Store

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The battle royale game Fortnite is beset with problems. This Epic Games game was forced to leave the Playstore (Android) and the App Store (iOS) due to an alleged violation of the payment system rules applied by the two platforms. Epic Games is accused of designing a direct top up mechanism in the Fortnite game so that it is detrimental to the Playstore and App Store.

Both Google and Apple are entitled to take a profit of 30% from the sale of items in the game Fortnite and the rest is given to game developers. But unfortunately, Epic Games violated these provisions by making a direct payment method without having to go through Google or Apple. Although with this method the currency in the Fortnite game is cheaper so that it benefits the players.

Regarding the problems it faces, Epic Games made a video protest against the decisions taken by the App Store and Playstore. But unfortunately, when you made this article the video was deleted.

As reported by.ID from The Verge page (14/8/2021), currently the App Store itself claims to be discussing further with Epic Games regarding this issue. In addition, the return of the game Fortnite to the App Store is still very possible.
