Top 3 support Dota players in 2021

In the final seconds of New Year’s Eve, it’s time to step back and see what happened in 2021. Needless to say, it’s been one of the best years for any Dota 2 fan out there. There are lots of great highlights. In terms of individual skills, many players stood out during this year. Although most of them play either mid or safelane, there are some support players who also deserve appreciation.

With that said, let’s take a look at some of the most shining support players of 2021. Keep in mind that this list is completely subjective, so other people’s choices may differ.

JESSE “JERAX” VAINIKKA

Often considered one of the best Earth Spirits in the world, JerAx deserves to be on this list. This two-time TI winner played phenomenally in 2021, he is one of the main reasons for OG’s success.

Jesse’s first big team was Team Liquid. However, after some disappointing results from the team, Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi decided to change his roster, resulting in JerAx being removed from the lineup in a post-TI 6 roster reshuffle.

MAROUN “GH” MERHEJ

In second place on our list is one of the all-time under-rated players. GH was known for playing mid in the pub game before he started to shine on the big stage. In fact, he was one of the first players to reach 9000 MMR.

Initially, Maroun played as a substitute for Kanishka Sam “BuLba” Sosale on Team Liquid about four years ago. He was playing really well then, so after a few weeks, GH permanently moved to Team Liquid. Since then, he won TI 7 and got second place at TI 9, which makes him one of the most successful support players of all time.

XU “FY” LINSEN

Fy is one of the most famous Chinese Dota 2 players in the world. He is known as a very intelligent and calm support player. Although he mastered almost all support heroes, he performed the most brilliantly with his Rubick. That’s why you often find teams banning Rubick’s heroes every time they face FY.

Together with PSG.LGD, FY had a great first half in 2021. They are considered as one of the favorites for TI 9 and almost made it to the Grand Finals in a row. However, Team Liquid was able to deliver a knock-out blow in the LB final and forced LGD to finish in third place.
