Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Gets Android Port

GAMEFINITY.ID, Salatiga – Good news is back for fans of The Witcher series. Now CD Projekt Red announced that they will be releasing an Android port for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales.

CD Projekt Red actually released Thronebreaker in 2021 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms, then in 2021 Nintendo Switch and iOS got this RPG game port. Previously, the Android platform only got the TCG The Witcher game entitled Gwent.

Gameplay

The gameplay of Thronebreaker is a mix of RPG and Card Game which is adapted from Gwent’s TCG gameplay. Although adapted from Gwent, there are some significant mechanical differences. For example, Siege Unit and Siege Row were removed in Thronebreaker, leaving only melee and ranged units.

Then the RPG side of Thronebreaker itself carries a semi-open world theme. Here players can explore five regions, namely Rivia, Lyria, Angren, Mahakam and Lower Aedirn. Thronebreaker presents an adventurous experience exploring an isometric perspective map that is almost similar to Baldur’s Gate.

So, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales itself can be considered as a follow-up game from Gwent but focuses more on single player and is richer in storyline. According to CD Projekt Red as the developer, Thronebreaker provides 30 hours of The Witcher experience which is very fascinating and fun to follow.

Plot

Campaign Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales tells the story of events before the first The Witcher. Here players will play Queen Meve, the ruler of Lyria and Rivia. Queen Meve is tasked with leading the kingdom and guiding her son, Willem, so that he will be able to lead the kingdom he controls.

The challenge that Queen Meve accepts is quite heavy. He must lead a small kingdom that is in the midst of the turmoil of war. So Queen Meve must prepare the kingdom and its troops in order to defend Lyria from the onslaught of a very powerful enemy.

Like The Witcher, here players will be faced with various choices. These choices will determine the direction of the storyline that players will go through and of course will also affect the ending of the storyline.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales will be released on June 17, 2021. Prior to the release, players can take part in the pre-register event on the Play Store. Thronebreaker itself is a premium game so players can sample a little demo for free but have to pay to unlock the entire gameplay of Thronebreaker.
