There are five regions with different climates in Harvest Moon: One World
Regional variations also present their own challenges.
The latest gameplay demo of Harvest Moon: One World shows off different gameplay features. Unlike the previous game series, this edition provides many regions that have different characteristics.
Many are skeptical of the quality of Harvest Moon: One World compared to other big farming simulation games like Stardew Valley and Story of Seasons. Some fans have criticized One World and believe that many of its elements simply mimic Story of Seasons.
But developer Natsume has shown improvements in Harvest Moon: One World since its first launch trailer by implementing several new features.
Shown in demos via various news outlets and YouTubers, the biggest new addition to Harvest Moon: One World is the use of multiple regions inspired by real-world locations. There will be 5 types of regions including: the prairie of Calisson, the Hawaiian-inspired island of Halo Halo, the desert town of Pastilla, the volcanic village of Lebkuchen, and the snowy town of Salmiakki.
Players can not only visit this new area, but can also cultivate it into agricultural land. Existing farm buildings can be transported from one field to another, but the crops grown will remain there. This regional diversity will result in a variety of crops, such as frozen tomatoes growing in Salmiakki.
However, regional variations also present their own challenges, such as weather conditions. For example, players can use hot dishes to stay warm in snowy areas, similar to Breath of Wild.
