Source Code 2 Found, Will CS:GO Get a Major Update?

Is Source 2 finally coming to Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO)? At this point we don’t even know anymore.

However, it looks like the leaked information suggests that CS:GO will receive a major update that will bring three new game modes and some other big additions regarding Source 2.

News of the presence of Source 2 in this FPS game had died in July after news reported that Valve had canceled their plans to bring the engine to Counter Strike.

But for the first time after the news was silenced, there is physical evidence that Valve seems to be still working on this project.

Because a CS: GO Source 2 code has been found in the latest Valve game update, Artifact.

The code was discovered by a Valve data miner whose twitter account is GabeFollower.

He gave details about the code found on October 22 on his twitter account.

What is Source 2

CSGO Source 2

Basically Source 2 is a video game engine developed by Valve d as a successor to the original Source engine.

Currently CS:GO is still using the Source 1 engine which many CS players feel is outdated and must be updated immediately.

Dota 2, which is a game created by Valve, has also received an update from Source 1 to Dota 2.

There is no clear understanding of how Source 2 will change CS:GO, but this update can be very helpful in creating new maps and also fixing bugs.
