Review of NYK Nemesis HS-E12 AKKADIA, Gaming Headset with Electronic Noise Canceling Support

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – NYK Nemesis, one of the gaming peripherals and accessories brands in Indonesia, has again sent its best product for review by the Gamefinity.id editorial team. The product that was sent this time was a gaming headset called HS-E12 AKKADIA. Previously, we have also reviewed NYK products, ranging from gamepads, headset stands, to gaming sets. Gamefinity residents can check our previous review as a reference if you want to buy affordable gaming gear from NYK.

NYK HS-E12 AKKADIA is a gaming headset that has been equipped with 50mm drivers, 4 RGB Lightning Modes (RGB Running Mode, Fixed RGB Mode, Breathing Mode and 7 Color Breathing Mod), as well as comfortable earmuffs that support a more comfortable gaming experience. This headset is equipped with a microphone with Electronic Noise Canceling technology.

For more details, let’s just look at the following Gamefinity-style discussion.

Design

The first impression we got when unboxing the NYK Nemesis HS-E12 AKKADIA product was that it was concise and simple. Inside the box there is no user manual or other notes, only a headset that has been neatly wrapped. At first glance there is nothing too special about the design of the HS-E12 AKKADIA. With a black color that is standard from NYK products.

The impression of gaming is seen by the presence of an RGB light on the side of the headset. There are 4 RGB lightning modes, namely Running, Fixed, Breathing and Color Breathing. The white NYK Nemesis logo is clearly printed on the left and right sides of the headset, with black matte material and slightly gray doff earpads complete the design of this HS-E12 AKKADIA.

This headset is also equipped with a leather headband. With a relatively light weight (about 320 grams) this headset is comfortable to use in long gaming sessions. There is an iron holder around the headband which makes it easy to hang the headset. In this headband, NYK also added the NEMESIS brand name and black stitching list.

Feature

NYK HS-E12 AKKADIA has a cable with a length of 2.2 meters, and a usb 2.0 interface type that has been gold plated. The cable used in the NYK HS-E12 AKKADIA is still an ordinary cable, not too stiff and coated with rubber.

The NYK HS-E12 AKKADIA has in-line audio control with a wired headset. This makes it easier for users to adjust the volume, without having to bother looking for a scroll which is generally located on the back of the earphone. In addition to adjusting the volume, this audio control also functions to activate/deactivate the mic, change the LED color, and activate the ENC mode.

That last mode is the main feature of the NYK HS-E12 AKKADIA. Electronic Noise Canceling (ENC) is simply a feature to reduce the sound that enters the headphones/mic. This works when gamers are playing in a room full of other gamers, so gamers are not distracted by ambient noises and can focus more on the game.

This Noise Canceling feature is claimed to be a technology that does not interfere with the sound of the headphones or earphones themselves. There are two types of Noise Cancellation, Active and Passive. Active will further muffle the sound outside so that it focuses on in-game sound and communication between gamers.

When it comes to microphones, the NYK HS-E12 AKKADIA has a flexible, undetachable microphone, with a sensitivity of 42 ± 3dB. The microphone impedance is 2.2KΩ.

Experience

In addition to trying the NYK HS-E12 AKKADIA headset by playing the game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, the author also uses this headset to listen to music while writing this article. As a result, our impression is quite positive. In terms of comfort, build quality, and the resulting audio quality, all meet the standards of the headset as it should be.

The sound quality with the 50 mm driver sounds quite clear, clear, with the sound of gunshots and footsteps being heard at its maximum. NYK also equips it with Have Driver Software which can be adjusted to maximize sound performance.

Earmuffs made of leather with breathable features also make users comfortable, especially when used for long gaming sessions. Earmuffs also have a relatively large size and can cover the entire ear.

What can be called a drawback of this gaming headset is the effectiveness of the ENC feature, which is actually not very successful at reducing ambient sound. There is almost no difference between the sound captured when the l mode is active or passive. In fact, the sound captured from the microphone is slightly swollen, so this gaming headset is not suitable when used to guide live streaming.
