Recovering After Accident, Tiger Woods Comes Back Digitally With New Golf Game

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Golfer Tiger Woods is recovering from an injury he sustained last month following a car crash last month. He is ready to make a digital comeback by appearing in a golf video game, after announcing a new contract with a 2K publisher.

Previously, on February 23, the 45-year-old golfer had a single accident near the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes, California, United States. Emergency workers had to get Woods out of his car and take him to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Woods was badly injured and had to undergo surgery to treat multiple injuries to his right lower leg, including insertion of a rod into the tibia. Additional screws and pins were required in the leg, and Woods also needed treatment for a muscle and soft tissue injury. Woods also underwent several other procedures as part of post-accident care.

After gradually recovering, Woods was allowed to go home from the hospital, Wednesday (17/3/2021). He is now ready to come back digitally, by promoting a new golf game. 2K and Woods have agreed a long-term exclusive partnership, and 2K has also reached an agreement with HB Studios, the developer of the PGA Tour 2K21 video game.

“I can’t wait to get back into the video game landscape. With 2K and HB Studios, I’ve found the right partner to make it happen. I am honored to take part in this opportunity, to share my expertise and insights. Together, we are building the future of the video game golf,” said Tiger Woods.

This exclusive partnership includes the rights to use the name and image of Tiger Woods, which will appear in the PGA Tour 2K game and other games. In addition, Tiger Woods also serves as executive director and consultant on PGA Tour 2K.

The golfer whose full name is Eldrick Tont Woods throughout his professional career has won 82 PGA Tour titles. He is now level with Sam Snead for the all-time record. In the gaming industry, Woods briefly partnered with EA Sports for his golf video games for 15 years, before the deal expired in 2021.
