Razer Viper 8KHz: World's First Esports Gaming Mouse with 8000Hz Polling Rate

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Razer announced its newest gaming mouse with HyperPolling Technology, the Razer Viper 8KHz, the world’s first esports gaming mouse with a polling rate of 8000Hz. Razer HyperPolling Technology has surpassed the standard gaming mouse of only 1000Hz polling rate and now supports up to 8000Hz polling rate for faster response, ushering in a new era of gaming on responsiveness, speed and reliability.

Currently, most gaming mice can only support up to 1000Hz polling rate, while other mice focus on making more accurate and responsive mice, but few consider the click speed and positional data transmitted to the PC to be faster and responsive. With higher PC specs and higher monitor refresh rates, higher polling rates can eliminate annoying micro-stutters, improving the gaming experience significantly.

“Latency is a very important part of gameplay because it has a significant and significant effect on the overall gaming experience, this is sometimes overlooked by some other gaming mice that focus on increasing DPI. Unlike DPI, low latency benefits all sectors from casual players to professional players by cutting a critical few milliseconds of response time,” said Alvin Cheung, Razer Senior Vice President for peripherals.

“During the trial and development process with a large group of esports athletes and gaming mouse enthusiasts, many reported that when using the Hyperpolling Technology embedded in this Razer Viper 8KHz gaming mouse, movement felt significantly smoother and more responsive.”

Be 8x faster – the facts behind the speed

The polling rate is the frequency at which a device sends data to a PC, with most industry standards being up to 1000Hz (1000 times per second). Razer HyperPolling Technology leverages a high-speed USB micro-controller to go above and beyond with a polling rate of 8000Hz. This allows the 8KHz Viper to transmit 8x more than any other gaming mouse per second and reduces input delay from 1ms to 1/8ms.

Razer HyperPolling Technology can transmit more data to compensate for the monitor’s faster refresh rate. As a result, the delay between the last data and frame rendering of the monitor is less than a mouse with a polling rate of 1000Hz, the movement is smoother and more up-to-date with respect to cursor position.

A higher polling rate can reduce input delay, reduce micro-stutters and the effect of jumping from the cursor position, so that the cursor movement on the screen becomes more accurate and smoother. Razer HyperPolling Technology not only provides faster click latency, but also keeps click-to-click to a minimum and sets it ahead of other gaming mouse technologies.

“This technology is perfect for games that require high precision and responsiveness like CS:GO,” said “Pull” Celik, CS:GO Player of the Evil Geniuses team. Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov from the Dota2 Alliance team also agreed and said, “I could immediately feel the difference between 1000Hz and 8000Hz.”

Outperform the Competition with the 8KHz Viper

The Viper 8KHz is Razer’s first gaming mouse to feature Razer HyperPolling Technology. 3 key innovations, namely Razer Optical Mouse Switches and Razer Focus+ Optical Sensor, combined with Razer HyperPolling Technology, make this gaming mouse have unmatched speed, precision, and high responsiveness.

The second generation of Razer Optical Mouse Switches have been upgraded with improved tactile feedback, making every click feel and sound more enjoyable than ever. Reducing the debounce delay used in traditional mechanical switches, the lightning-fast actuation is embedded by HyperPolling Technology to provide the lowest input latency, helping gamers achieve professional-level response times. Razer’s second-generation Optical Mouse Switches are built to last at least 70 million clicks.

The Razer Focus+ Optical Sensor has the best-in-class 99.6% resolution accuracy, so motion follows consistently. With the sensor’s unique intelligent function, combined with Razer HyperPolling Technology, players will experience ultra-smooth, stutter-free cursor movement with a high degree of accuracy so that they can take headshots to win the game.

Top-class Performance, Down to Every Detail

Exceptional performance and technology are wrapped in a solid, ambidextrous chassis design, and weighs only 71 grams. The Viper 8KHz is compatible with 100% PTFE mouse feet for smoother movement, and features Razer’s snag-free SpeedFlex Cable to minimize drag on the mouse during swipes.

Through Razer Synapse 3, players can configure eight programmable buttons, assign macros or select a profile and save configuration profiles in the Viper’s 8KHz advanced on-board memory. With storage of up to five on-board memory profiles, users can enjoy instant access to their configuration settings wherever they are. A significant improvement over its predecessor, the 8KHz Viper incorporates all of Razer’s technological innovations to achieve a high level of performance.

The Razer Viper 8KHz is scheduled to be released and can be ordered at Razer.com and Razer authorized dealers starting February 7, 2021. This Esports gaming mouse will retail for Rp1,299,000,-.
