Pokemon Sword and Shield requires at least 9.5 GB
Pokemon Sword and Shield is predicted to be one of the two greatest games ever made by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company.
The file size for this game, as revealed by the retail in-game store and via game preload, is 9.5 GB. It’s smaller than other big games like Super Smash Bros and Ultimate and Dragon Quest XI, but Sword and Shield is still pretty big compared to other games in the Switch library.
With all the new Pokémon on offer, as well as a huge world map, story line, and online gameplay available, the size of this game is quite small compared to some of the other games. However, you may still need to use an external memory card if you plan to buy games digitally.
Sword and Shield probably won’t get DLC for some time to come. That means you won’t have to worry about file sizes getting bigger anytime soon. But it’s still a good idea to buy additional memory, if you plan to invest in a digital library on your console.
Pokémon Sword and Shield will release on Nintendo Switch on November 15th.
