PMGC Finals 2021 Breaks the Record for Peak Viewers of 3.8 Million

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The Grand Final of PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2021 has ended. The Chinese team, Nova Esports came out as champion, followed by compatriots 4 Angry Men as runner-up and Zeus Esports from Mongolia as second runner-up. Two teams from Indonesia, Bigetron RA and Aerowolf Limax, are in 5th and 13th positions in the final standings of the tournament.

The competition, which was originally planned to take place offline at the Coca Coca Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was turned into an online tournament, after three players tested positive for COVID-19. Players then compete in isolation from their respective hotel rooms, using a dedicated internet network. Despite the various obstacles, the audience seemed to still enjoy this tournament.

This is evident from the record number of viewers, which reached a peak audience of 3.8 million. Each of the 16 competing teams displayed their spectacular skills, with the best playing and fierce battles.

According to statistics website Esports Charts, the tournament had an average audience of 528,819, and a total broadcast time of 122 hours. The competition was watched for over 64 million hours collectively. The data includes in-game statistics from Nimo TV as well as views from other streaming platforms, such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitch.

After breaking the record on the first day, the second day final also recorded a peak of 1.9 million views and an average of around 1.2 million views. During the third day, the numbers jumped again and a record peak views hit 2.3 million. Average views on that day reached 1.37 Million.

The final day of the championship became more interesting in terms of gameplay and intensity, which contributed to an increase in peak views to 2.9 million, with an average audience of 1.59 million viewers. These record-breaking numbers show the overall growth of PUBG Mobile Esports. Certainly interesting to see what happens in the 2021 season.
