Patent From Tencent Will Allow Your Relatives To Use Your Game Account If You Die

GAMEFINITY.ID, Denpasar – A patent that sounds a bit odd was filed by Tencent, at first it sounded strange but when you think about it, it actually makes sense, and sometimes we might also need it someday. Tencent filed a patent where you can transfer your digital assets (including in-game items) to your relatives.

You must have often heard the news about grandparents who like to play games, right? So if for example these people have in-game items or other digital assets that have a value that can be cashed if they die, there is no longer an owner right? Now, this patent allows the digital asset to transfer ownership to its closest relatives. The transfer of digital assets is the same concept as the movement of physical assets.

This also applies to e-sports players who usually have in-game items that can be redeemed, we don’t know when death will come, right? It’s also good to make plans like this for the future. Tencent, you guys have a brilliant idea.

Tencent is also one of the first companies to adopt this system. So in the future games made from Tencent or published from Tencent will be able to send digital assets of people who have died to their closest relatives. It is likely that games that are on the rise will adopt this system in the near future.

This new patent from Tencent was first publicly seen on the Tianyancha application in March 2021. The patent numbered cn110245940b describes a new technology that provides “Information processing methods, and related tools in the inheritance and transfer of digital asset certificates.” Where users are required to upload a will in their name for digital assets naming designating the name of the beneficiary of the asset in an application or in a game.
