Various prestigious titles have been won by the 25-year-old athlete, ranging from the Indonesia Open, All England titles to the 2021 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games gold medals, which have adorned his collection of championship trophies. Together with his partner, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, the couple nicknamed The Minions were also ranked 1st in the BWF world for men’s doubles.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit the world has forced the athlete who was born in Banyuwangi, East Java, to withdraw from his activities in the tepok bulu sport. In order to fill his spare time and fulfill his competitive spirit, Kevin Sanjaya is now active in the world of electronic sports, also known as esports. Kevin himself has indeed shown his ability to compete with professional esports athletes such as Jess No Limit.
Later, he was also involved in the Mobile Legends tournament titled Celebrity Superstars Battle which was held since last October 31. The competition, which was held by Mahaka Sports with Kuy Entertainment, did present a number of well-known celebrities, public figures, and members of the professional e-Sports team in the country. Among them are Raffi Ahmad, Baim Wong, Irwansyah, Uus, Vidi Aldiano, the RRQ e-Sports professional team, Evos, to Valkyrie 48.
A total of 30 participants were divided into six teams. Kevin Sanjaya was lined up as team leader, as were Raffi Ahmad, Baim Wong, Vidi Aldiano, Brisia Jodie, and Desy JKT 48. These six teams will play in the group stage, each group consisting of three teams. The two best teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals which will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2021. As captain, Kevin Sanjaya also managed to bring his team consisting of EVOS Pendragon, Mira Valkyrie48, Celine Valkyrie48, and Philopaz Armand to the semifinals. The Vidi Aldiano and Desy JKT 48 teams fell first so that in the semifinals the remaining Raffi Ahmad, Brisia Jodie, and Baim Wong teams were left.
Kevin Sanjaya’s team also received praise from Kuy Entertainment who recognized the world’s number one badminton skill. They said Kevin Sanjaya’s team had good cohesiveness with ‘not cans’ skills.
