Nominated for BAFTA Games 2021 Dominated by PlayStation Exclusive Game

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The BAFTA Games Awards have announced their nominees for the 2021 edition. Overall, the 2021 BAFTA Games Awards are dominated by PlayStation exclusive games. Game directed by Naughty Dog, The Last of Us: Part 2 set the record for the most with a score of 13 nominations.

The Last of Us beat the record set by Control and Death Stranding last year, which garnered 11 nominations at the 2021 BAFTA Games Awards. At that time, Control and Death Stranding took home only one title each.

Following The Last of Us which received 13 nominations, Ghost of Tsushima received 10 nominations. Spider-Man: Miles Morales (7), Dreams (6) and Sackboy: A Big Adventure (4) followed. PS5 games Demon’s Souls and Astro’s Playroom are also nominated.

Outside of PlayStation games, Hades (Supergiant) is the most nominated multiplatform game with a total of 8 nominations. Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Nintendo) and Fall Guys (Mediatonic) received five nominations each.

This year’s BAFTA Games Awards will take place via a 90-minute live stream on March 25, 2021, hosted by journalist Elle Osili-Wood. BAFTA said this year’s event format will focus on the home audience, while highlighting the role games play in our lives and how games have kept us all connected, entertained and inspired over the past year, particularly during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Awards, including nominations, are selected by BAFTA’s global membership of experienced game industry practitioners from various backgrounds in game development and production. Public gamers can vote openly for EE Game of the Year on following link, of which the nominees are Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Call of Duty: Warzone, Ghost of Tsushima, Hades, The Last of Us Part 2 and Valorant.
