New Map Details Leaked COD Warzone, From Zoo to Weather Station

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Activision will reportedly launch a new Call of Duty Warzone map to coincide with the game’s first anniversary in March 2021. As ModernWarzone tweeted, the new map will be an 8×8 map. For comparison, the existing Verdansk map is 9×9, though only about 6.5×7 playable.

Referring to Verdansk which is partly made up of Modern Warfare’s Ground War map, with a large multiplayer arena combined, the new Warzone map is said to be a combination of the Fireteam map in Black Ops Cold War.

The Black Ops Cold War mid-season update is slated to roll out this week, introducing a new, “huge” Fireteam map called Sanatorium, with updates to other features. A lake featured in the Sanatorium will reportedly be located in the center of the new Warzone map, leading to speculation that a swimming and watercraft mechanic could be added at a later date (both featured in Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode, Blackout).

Points of interest in the new Warzone map reportedly include the Zoo, which is said to be based on the original Black Ops multiplayer map of the same name, and Weather Station, which has become one of players’ favorite multiplayer maps.

The Weather Station is said to be located close to an area called the Ski Slope, which is based on the Alpine Fireteam map. As reported by VGC, a major overhaul of the Cold War-themed map of Warzone that was originally slated for release last year is in the works.

Warzone has attracted more than 85 million players since its release in March 2021, according to Activision. The publisher will offer free access to Zombies Cold War mode for one week starting January 14th.
