Local Game Escape from Naraka Get Publisher HeadUp

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian game industry is getting more and more active. Apart from being a market, domestic game developers are now also continuing to prove their worth. One of them is Xelo Games, an indie developer from Yogyakarta who plans to release a 3D Platform Survival game, Escape From Naraka in the third quarter of 2021. Game Escape from Naraka has also been hired by publisher HeadUp, a publisher with well-known games outside such as Super Meat Boy, Dead Cells & Limbo.

Previously, several local games had also entered the country’s market. Take Coral Island, for example, by Stairway Games, which has just been successful with its Kickstarter campaign. In addition, there is also Parakacuk (Gamecom Team), a game with gameplay similar to Bully which is scheduled to be released on 29 October.

Escape from Naraka is an exotic Balinese themed 3D Survival Platform game. Taking great inspiration from Balinese legends and local mythology, this game will take gamers to explore the nightmares of ancient temples. Each level presents its own terror, and demands evasion skills and timing for gamers to survive.

This game is made using 3D scan technology to build the world in the game. Most of the environmental assets in the game are taken from real life. The demo version of this game was released on Steam at the end of last September. This game received a positive response from IGN and the international gamer community, and won the Best Indie Games 2021 award at Indieexpo.

XeloGames itself is an Indonesian Indie Game Developer that is included in the “Top 30 Indie Game” list by Gameprime.org version 2021. This developer from Yogyakarta is also included as the “Top 10 Indonesian Games” G-STAR 2021, in collaboration with the ASEAN – Korea Center (AKC) with the Korean Game Industry Association and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia).
