Introducing a new skin, PUBG Mobile is considered to be stealing names and concepts from other games
GAMEFINITY.ID, Singkawang – Many battle royale games are scattered on the internet today, one of which is PUBG Mobile. This game is quite well known among gamers with mobile devices. Tencent as the publisher of the PUBG Mobile game also often provides interesting updates in the form of skins and others.
This time, PUBG Mobile presents a skin called Hypnospace Diva which invites various controversies from many parties. Not without reason, this controversy occurred because PUBG Mobile was accused of stealing the name and concept from an indie game called Hypnospace Outlaw.
This started when Jay Tholen as the owner and originator of the game Hypnospace Outlaw spoke on his Twitter account saying that PUBG Mobile stole the name and concept of their game.
ok i guess i’ll make a more direct quote tweet and say that it sucks that PUBG have stolen Hypnospace’s name to sell a tacky costume. the color choices seem to pull from our key art as well. https://t.co/OIkioEHWRN pic.twitter.com/hJrMdIwvxP

In addition, PUBG Mobile also stole the color tone of the Hypnospace Outlaw game, which tends to use purple.
“I’d like to say that it’s quite annoying to see PUBG has stolen the Hypnospace name to sell ‘tacky’ costumes in its game. The color selection also seems to be taken through our key art,” wrote Jay Tholen.
Jay Tholen said he didn’t want to prolong this issue, but his game didn’t want to be seen as collaborating with PUBG Mobile in secret.
If we dig deeper, this is not the first time that Tencent has been accused of plagiarism. Tencent has also had a controversy regarding weapon skins in PUBG Mobile, which has a design similar to that of the CS:GO game.
Tencent has provided clarification on the matter, they explained that it happened by accident. Initially, this skin was made with the name from the Chinese language, namely Golden Diva, but it was changed to the name Hypnospace Diva so that it can be accepted by players with a wider range.
