Indian Gamer Hangs Himself Because He Can't Play PUBG Mobile
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – At the beginning of last September, the Indian government officially banned the PUBG Mobile game from circulating in its country. There are 33 million PUBG Mobile game players in India who can no longer access the Battle Royale genre game. Not a few gamers in India are disappointed by the Indian government’s decision. Even ironically, there is a gamer from India who is willing to end his life because his favorite game can no longer be played.
A teenager from the West Bengal district of Nadia has reportedly died by suicide. According to the local police, the 21-year-old student’s reckless action was a form of disappointment because the government banned the PUBG Mobile game from circulating in his country. The man named Pritam Halder was found hanging in his apartment located in Purba Lapur, India.
“When I called him for lunch, his room was locked from the inside. I tried banging on his room repeatedly. But he still didn’t open the door. I immediately called my neighbors for help. When the door was successfully opened, we saw Pritam hanging on a fan,” said Ratna as a witness as well as Pritam’s mother. As we quoted from the BGR page (23/9/2021).
The incident took place 2 days after the Indian government’s decision to ban PUBG Mobile in its country. Not only PUBG Mobile, the government has also banned hundreds of other Chinese applications due to data privacy issues.
