Government Prepares 17T Budget for Laptops Made in Indonesia

GAMEFINITY.ID, Denpasar – It seems that the Indonesian government is ambitious to make domestic products, one example is creating their own laptops. Of course, the government also collaborates with domestic laptop manufacturers such as Zyrex (PT Zyrexindo Mandiri Buana TBK).

The total budget for the manufacture of laptops in this country reaches Rp. 17.42 trillion, which will run until 2024. According to Nadiem, this procurement is needed to support the School Digitization program. That much budget is not only used for domestic laptop manufacturing capital but also for purchasing computer equipment such as: projector screens, active speakers, routers, connectors/cables, and others.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar said that “If we look at those that are produced domestically, those made by ITB, ITS, and UGM, in collaboration with the ICT industry in horror to form a consortium, make red and white tablet and laptop products with the Dikti Edu brand” .

To produce laptops made in Indonesia, universities in Indonesia such as ITB, ITS, and UGM have collaborated with domestic ICT industries such as PT Zyrexindo Mandiri Buana TBK.

Later the government will send 190,000 laptops made in this country to 12,000 schools, ranging from Early Childhood Education (PAUD) to elementary and high school levels. This is done to support the School Digitization program.

The purpose of making laptops in this country is to reduce imported laptops. According to data from the Ministry of Industry, the value of laptops in the last 5 years from 2021 to 2021 has reached 14 trillion Rupiah with annual demand reaching 3 million laptop units with a market share of 95% for imported products and 5% for local products. Therefore, it is hoped that with this much budget it can reduce the number of requests for laptops made in foreign countries and Zyrex is ready to take a larger share of the laptop market so that more and more people use their own home-made laptops.
