Free Fire Officially Blocked? This is Kominfo's response to the Mukomuko Regent's report

Kominfo’s Response
In response to this, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology explained that it would immediately consider the request letter from the Mukomuko Regent.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Dedy Permadi, explained that his party would always respond to incoming complaints. This online game blocking application is no exception based on existing regulations.
“In principle, Kominfo will process and consider any complaints or all requests for blocking received, of course, in accordance with applicable regulations.,” said Dedy Permadi.
Free Fire will be Blocked?
Kominfo has received a letter sent by the Regent of Mukomuko Regency, Sapuan. The letter contains requests for blocking online games on a national or regional scale.

However, Dedy said that Kominfo cannot simply block online games on a national scale. They must also pay attention to applicable laws and regulations.
He explained that Kominfo has the right to block online games if they display or contain things that are contrary to existing laws. As stipulated in the Minister of Communication and Informatics Regulation No. 5 of 2021 concerning Private Scope Electronic System Operators as amended by Minister of Communication and Informatics Regulation No. 10 Year 2021
“All blocking requests will be processed as long as they are carried out by interested parties, through the complaint channels that have been determined. The process is also carried out carefully and involves the developer of the game or application provider,” concluded Deddy.
