EVOS Esports Wins ASL Champion for the Third Time

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – ASL S3 by ESL finally finished all its matches and crowned EVOS Esports as the champion.

The ESL Grand Final presented by Indofood with Chitato, Good to Go, Pop Mie, and Mercedez as the Premium Sponsor and Garena as the Official Partner was held at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Gelora Bung Karno, Saturday 14 September 2021.

Previously there were 4 teams that qualified for the Grand Final round to compete for a total prize of 1 billion rupiah and 1 ticket to the Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2021.

The four teams are EVOS Esports, Brother e-Sports (SES), BOOM ID, and DG E-Sports. They are entitled to compete in the Grand Final round because they are the 4 teams with the highest points during the Group Stage round (17 July – 1 September 2021).

During the Group Stage, EVOS Esports did appear dominant with 10 wins and 2 losses. In this Grand Final, Henry “Carraway” Teja and his friends from EVOS also performed very well.

In the semifinals, EVOS initially met DG who was ranked 4th in the final standings of the Group Stage. Unfortunately, DG was unable to provide significant resistance to EVOS. The team with the white tiger logo closed the game with a score of 2-0.

EVOS also advanced to the final round against SES who managed to beat BOOM ID (2-1) in the semifinals. In this match, SES was able to provide a fiercer resistance to the defending champion.

Thanks to the agility of Farhan “Hans” Akbari, EVOS managed to secure the first game. The second game, SES played more patiently and tactically so they were able to steal points.

The third and fourth games, EVOS and SES again secured 1 point each so that the score changed to 2-2. Therefore, the fifth game was running.

In the early days, SES actually had time to lead the game. Unfortunately, Calvin “Cate” and his friends from SES were unable to maintain their consistency until the end of the match.

EVOS also took advantage of the momentum well and closed the match with a fairly dramatic victory.

“SES has always been EVOS’s toughest competitor,” said Carraway. “They have grown very far, their hero pool is also getting wider. With Global Ban-Pick, I think they have adapted well.”

Although this victory is the third time EVOS has won ASL since Season 1, there is one new player from EVOS who has just tasted the championship seat, namely Gilang “Fall” Dwi Fallah.

“Fallah as a player is very easy to blend into the team and very easy to work with. Fall’s presence also poses a challenge for the EVOS team, so we’re trying to win this for Fall, because he’s never won before…hahaha.” Carraway continued.

Thanks to their victory in ASL S3 by ESL, EVOS has the right to be the representative of Indonesia to compete again at a higher level, AIC 2021, against the best teams from other countries.

One of them is the champion of the ESL MSP Championship which was held for the regions of Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. In addition, EVOS will also represent Indonesia in the AoV branch at the 2021 SEA Games.

Even though EVOS has dominated the Indonesian AoV martial arts world since the beginning of 2021, this team is still struggling to make a name at the international level.

“Facing these two competitions (AIC and SEA Games), we must continue to practice. In addition, we also increase scrim (match practice) with foreign teams, so we can learn how to play foreign teams.” Close Henry.
