In addition, the prize pool is only about half of the total prize pool for this year’s The International, which managed to generate a face value of USD 34,292,599.

It also marked the team’s second win in a row since last year. The money will be divided according to the portion to the team owner, manager and players.

In other words, the amount of money each player takes home can be significantly less than that number even though it should still be rather substantial.

It also makes it the biggest grand prize in eSports history although at The International’s rate of growth it could be even bigger next year.

Just so you know, traditional sports like tennis don’t even have big prizes. Wimbledon singles champion Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep only took home USD 2.9 million. [BA/HBS]
