GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Capcom will be streaming the Resident Evil Showcase on Thursday (21/1/2021). At the event, Capcom was said to be providing the latest update from Resident Evil Village, including a new trailer, as well as additional news related to the Resident Evil franchise.

As reported by Video Games Chronicle, the Resident Evil Showcase will start on January 21 at 2 pm PT or 17:00 WIB. For your information, this year Capcom is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil. The PlayStation game was first released in Japan under the name Biohazard on March 22, 1996, before being released in North America eight days later.

Don’t miss the #REShowcase on January 21 at 2 PM PT! Join our Resident Evil producer and host, Brittney Brombacher (@BlondeNerd), on a tour of the Resident Evil Village, including a new trailer, first gameplay, and other Resident Evil news!” Capcom tweeted via Resident Evil’s official Twitter @RE_Games.

In addition to Resident Evil Village, Capcom will also announce plans to release several Netflix projects. Those projects include a new CGI film starring the protagonists of the Resident Evil 2 game, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. In addition, the Resident Evil live action series is also being developed by Constantin Film, who previously worked on the Resident Evil film.

Constantin has also announced plans to restart the Resident Evil film franchise with original stories that match the first two entries in Capcom’s beloved survival horror game series. The previous six Resident Evil films, all written and directed by Paul WS Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, have grossed over 1.2 billion USD at the box office globally, since the first film was released in 2002.

Last year, Capcom announced that overall, Resident Evil games had sold 103 million units. According to an internal source, Capcom plans to remake Resident Evil 4 via Osaka-based M-Two. The new studio was founded by former head of PlatinumGames Tatsuya Minami, who has been preparing for its development since 2021.
