Apex Legends Global Series 2021 comes with five different categories and abundant prizes
The battle royale game made by Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts (EA), Apex Legends, is now getting serious about developing their competitive scene by presenting the Apex Legends Global Series 2021.
In this tournament series, the 2021 Apex Legends Global Series will feature 12 global events involving 60 different countries.
Apex Legends Global Series 2021 will come with five different categories, namely Online, Challenger, Premier, Major, and Championship.
This number of categories was deliberately presented by Respawn to provide many ways for players to qualify for the Global Series Major.
Through the infographic below, you can see how players can earn points from online, regional (Challenger) and inter-regional (Premier) tournaments.
The biggest events of the Global Series are the four Major tournaments. As the main event of EA, the final phase of the tournament will feature 300 teams who will battle it out for a total prize pool of US$500,000 (Rp7 billion).
The last Major tournament of the Apex Legends Global Series is the Championship. The tournament will only involve 60 of the world’s best teams, where they will battle it out for the biggest piece of cake from a total prize pool of US$1 million (Rp14 billion).
With 2021 approaching, Respawn has announced the schedule for the Apex Legends Global Series. The first three events will be held on:
- Online Tournament Qualifiers for Major #1 (25 and 27 January 2021)
- Online Tournament Qualifier for Premier Event #1 (29 February and 2 March 2021).
- Major #1 – Esports Stadium, Arlington, Texas, USA (13-15 March, 2021).
