AMD Launches Flagship Radeon RX 6900 XT Graphics Card

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – After announcing the availability of the Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT on November 18, 2021, AMD has finally announced the availability of the fastest gaming graphics card AMD has ever developed from the Radeon RX 6800 Series line, namely the Radeon RX 6900 XT. As a flagship-class graphics card, the Radeon RX 6900 XT is optimized for enthusiastic gamers to deliver incredible 4K gaming performance and overclocking capabilities and is designed for ultra-high framerates and vivid visuals in 4K gaming.

Powered by the innovative AMD RDNA 2 gaming architecture and providing a host of performance-enhancing features, the Radeon RX 6900 XT comes with 80 upgraded compute units, 16GB GDDR6 VRAM, and clock speeds exceeding 2.8 GHz. The RDNA 2 architecture itself is also designed for the next generation of desktop PCs, laptops, consoles, and mobile games. This architecture offers gamers many benefits including double the overall performance and 54 percent better performance per watt compared to the first generation RDNA architecture on 7nm process nodes.

This graphics card also has a feature called Smart Access Memory (SAM). When pairing a Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics card with an AMD Ryzen 5000 Series processor and an AMD B550 or X570, SAM allows the AMD Ryzen processor to directly access high-speed GDDR6 graphics memory, speeding up CPU processing and improving performance in some games.

Another excellent feature is AMD Infinity Cache where the high-performance end-level data cache is suitable for 4K and 1440p gaming, with the highest level of detail enabled. 128 MB of on-die cache dramatically reduces latency and power consumption, delivering higher overall gaming performance than traditional architectural designs.

The Radeon RX 6900 XT also comes with DirectX Raytracing (DXR) which adds a high-performance fixed-function Ray Accelerator engine to every computing unit. AMD RDNA 2 based graphics cards are optimized to deliver real-time lighting, shadows, and reflection realism with DXR. When paired with AMD FidelityFX, which enables hybrid rendering, developers can combine raster and ray-tracing effects to ensure the optimal combination of image quality and performance.

While the Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT are priced at US$579 and US$649, respectively, AMD is pricing the Radeon RX 6900 XT at US$999 (excluding tax) and can be found from global retailers and on AMD.com.
